My personal thoughts and ravings... more information than you care to know
The Fountain
I just watched “The Fountain” and felt moved to write about it. I admit that I don’t understand a lot of it, and that’s okay. It still got me thinking and it certainly moved me to tears several times.
I think it’s a common human condition to seek out immortality. Many religions offer it in one way or another. Being famous or even to a lesser degree, having friends and family that survive us and carry on our memory is in some ways a form of life after death.
In my own life, I know that what I fear most is being alone and insignificant… not mattering to those I care about.

On Second Thought...
Okay I need to slap upside their head whoever thought that it would be a good idea last night to drink too much and then post on their website. Oh wait… that would be me.
Please hold for a brief service interruption…

More news in the life and times of me
Well, I haven’t written anything substantive in a while and I suppose that today is a bit noteworthy.
My sister called me this morning to offer support for me, seemingly out of the blue. I wasn’t quite sure what brought it on, but she mentioned how she hoped my ex told me the news in person, rather than in email. By “the news” I immediately surmised what she meant. Apparently my ex just changed her Facebook status to “engaged”.
I had suspended my Facebook account about a month ago for partly this reason.

Rethinking Myself
Well, I figured I’d break with the routine and write a little something while I’m feeling good.
I met with my counselour tonight and shared about my prior week. I was in a pretty good mood and talked almost non-stop for the whole hour. Some of it was about my ex, obviously. But a surprising amount was just general stuff I wanted to share.
I’m coming out of issues faster now than I have before. Yes, I was pretty damn annoyed last weekend, but I held it together, let it go, and now I really don’t care. Well, here is the thing…

Small Steps
Sometimes it seems to me that the path of my life is set along a mountain side. The way is difficult and slow at times, and some days I am so concerned about putting one foot in front of the next that any sense of accomplisment is lost with the exertion of my effort. I know I have been lazy for too long… that the comfort of life was easily attained and I took it for granted. Both physically and mentally, I had grown fat and complacent. Then I was literally forced out of my reclusivity through events of my own making.
I don’t know how much people can change.

All the news that's fit to print
Well, I think it’s about time for me to actually sit down and spend some time to redesign my websites. I want to implement a better layout with more uniform navigation, better links to projects and interests, and easier back-end maintenance.
I’ve been using Drupal 6.x for about 2 years now and while it is very flexible, it is not always the easiest to maintain, especially when weird errors crop up. I also had a personal WordPress site that I was using for about a year, but because of some unhealthy interest in my site, I decided to mothball it.

Drupal Content Management Platform
Well, I have been looking for a usable open source content management platform for a while. I have heard of Wordpress and even tried it out. I loved the simplicity of it for blogging, but it seemed to lack of lot of features I was looking for. I did more research online and learned about drupal.
